What the HECK is Mombo Sauce?!
Unless you are from the D.C. area then you probably do not know what Mombo Sauce is. (It is pronounced MOM - bo) Well, friends let us be the first to tell you its the best thing you are missing out on! A quick Google search of Mombo Sauce will show you two things a band (who are a pretty good go-go band but we won’t go into that!) and a delicious sauce that is good on just about everything. Chicken wings and french fries are out favorite things to use Mambo Sauce with but it tastes amazing in brothy soups, on burgers, sandwiches and anywhere else you can invent.
So what it is?!
Why do we LOVE Mombo sauce?
If being delicious was not a good enough, we fell in love over Mombo Sauce. Mrs. Crazy grew up a hop, skip and jump from the MD-DC line and has always loved Mombo Sauce. Moving away for college left her sauceless til she met Mrs. Crazy!
While still dating Mr. Crazy took Mrs. Crazy to a local hole in the wall chicken place where low and behold had Mombo sauce. (Btw Mombo is ALWAYS with a capital M. Show some respect people!) The Crazy Couple found that they both loved this savory sauce despite not being in DC. Their love for the sauce and each other grew. In fact, you can still find them getting their weekly dose of Mambo at Arirang Hill in Columbia, MD. He gets chicken wings and fries and she gets cheesesteak (and don’t skimp on our sauce!). But, if you need directions ask the locals where “Simmie’s” just be prepared for a line that is worth the wait.
